Bjursås – the Switzerland of Dalarna

Bjursås, also called the Switzerland of Dalarna during the times of CARL VON LINNÉ.
There are plenty of things going on here year-round. We have the accordion meet Bjursdraget at Bjursås Log Cabin Village & Campsite, cruising through Bjursås with vintage cars, Midsummer celebrations and Taube evenings and several events on Dössberget.

The various organizations offer many things, such as water skiing competitions, football games, gymnastic competitions as well as alpine competitions at Bjursås SkiCenter. As well as plenty of competitions in cross country skiing in Sörskog. Bjursås is seldom without snow.

Bjursås and surrounding villages is a cozy, scenic area. Here everyone will enjoy themselves, the young and the old. Some young people choose to leave to see the world but often return and settle down here.

Bjursås is a village with 3000-4000 inhabitants. We have a grocery shop, Coop Konsum. We have two banks, Handelssparbanken and Bjursås Sparbank.

We have schooling up to secondary school and 4 nurseries. There is a cinema, an ice-hockey field and a football pitch. Bjursås is a village with ambition and many are involved in voluntary or sports organizations.
